APHA (NSW)

Added 9th February 2013

This page is designed to assist owners with horses and ponies that were registered with the former Australian Palomino Horse Association, incorporated and based in NSW, who are considering transferring their membership and registration to Dilutes Australia Ltd.

Welcome to Dilutes Australia Ltd.  This page has been set up to help you navigate your way through our membership and registration processes.

Membership:

  • Any APHA (NSW) member who can produce a current membership card or proof of payment of fees for 2013 will be accepted directly into our membership base with no additional fees to be charged for the balance of the current financial year ie 2013.  Dilutes Australia's membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st each calender year.   You will need to download, complete and lodge a new membership application (please note that if you have been a member of Dilutes Australia at any time in the past you will need to complete a membership renewal form).
  • Members who did not rejoin APHA (NSW) for 2013 may apply for DA membership as per normal regulations with accompanying payment of the relevant membership and new member joining fee.   See fee schedule.

Registrations:

Please note that the following regulations are only applicable to horses and ponies that are NOT also registered with Dilutes Australia Ltd.

The following regulations will apply for the time being with respect to APHA (NSW) registered horses and ponies:

  • Horses registered by APHA (NSW) between 1995 and 31/1/2013 that comply with our regulations with respect to white markings and eye colour will be eligible for transfer across to the relevant registers for an administration fee of $5.00 per horse / pony.  No other registration fees will be charged for these horses / ponies at this time.
  • APHA (NSW) registered horses and ponies that do not conform to our regulations with respect to white markings and eye colour may qualify for our Broken Coloured Dilute Register.  A $5 administration fee per horse or pony will be charged for each transfer.

  • side on close up of each eye

  • testicles and sheath (stallions and geldings)
  • under tail (mares)
  • fanned out / close up view of mane (palominos)
  • fanned out / close up view of tail (palominos)

More information about these photos and advice on the angles required, including sample photos, is available here.

Foal recording transfers:

In order to ensure that all relevant information is entered into our database, owners are required to submit an application for foal recording for each horse or pony for which a transfer is required.  The APHA (NSW) registration certificate must be attached to this application as verification that the horse is currently registered.  The following coloured photographs must also accompany the application:

  • full views each side

  • under belly including between front legs, middle and between back legs

More information about these photos and advice on the angles required, including sample photos, is available here.
